Gift Guide for the Traveler

In the spirit of holiday gift guides, we’re gifting one to you for the traveler in your life! When shopping for a globetrotter, it can feel intimidating because what do you get someone who already has everything? Okay, we don’t mean everything. Yet, when it comes to experienced travelers, you have to assume they are savvy enough to get around different places, so they probably have all the gadgets they need, right?

Not exactly.

We’re here to help you find that unique travel gift that will only enhance your world wanderer’s travel experiences! Whether they need a travel journal or a quality leather backpack, get ready. You’re about to win the title of “best holiday gift-giver” this year.

6 Gift Ideas for the Traveler

1. Packing Cubes

Let’s dive right in. Starting with something smaller, we are talking about packing cubes. Have you seen these yet? They are incredibly helpful when it comes to proper suitcase organization and can lift the spirits of anyone who suffers from OCD. Let’s face it, packing is a beast. Make it easier and quicker for your traveler by giving them these packing dividers/cubes.

You can find one of our favorite, affordable options here.

2. Insulated Water Bottle

Okay, we know reusable water bottles are all the rage right now (as they should be), but does your world wanderer have an insulated water bottle? Get them a water bottle they won’t only appreciate after airport security but a water bottle they can take with them anywhere in the world.

Whether they’re hiking The Grand Canyon or perusing the streets of Paris, France, on a hot summer’s day, an insulated water bottle is a great go-to gift. Plus, you can personalize it by choosing their favorite color.

We’re loving this brand.

3. Comfy Loungewear/Athleisure

It’s safe to say athleisure has made the world a better place. When someone deemed sweatpants suitable for going out in public, we happily complied. When carefully selecting gift ideas, we were thinking of a cozy outfit more for the airport and exhausting travel days, but hey, they can wear their new getup wherever. If the nomad in your life is cozy and looks good, they’ll be sure to have a nice trip (or at least nice pictures of themself).

If you want to splurge, go here and here. If you want to keep things reasonably priced, you can find exact dupes here and here.

4. Good Walking Shoes

In the name of functional fashion, your traveler should also have a good pair of walking shoes. We know, they probably already do have a favorite pair of tennis shoes or hiking boots, but maybe they need an upgrade. Maybe they need a one-shoe-fits-all type of option. Whatever the need, we recommend a lightweight shoe that can handle the elements and unexpected situations while also looking the part (cue trendy shoes to match their new getup).

These are our favorite functional, waterproof shoes.

5. Travel Journal

This gift idea comes straight from the heart. What good are incredible trips if the memories fade over time? Sure, they can come home and tell you all about their adventures, but it will never truly capture each day and each moment. Give them a unique travel book – a place where they can jot down day-to-day experiences, funny encounters, and capture the essence of their trip. We promise this is something both your traveler and their posterity will appreciate. Is your traveler into trip photography? Journals are also a perfect way to print and stick photos in once they return home.

Give them a travel journal so they can jot down their experiences before moving on to the next destination.

Quality Leather Backpack

Last but not least, the wanderer will need a proper vessel to carry all of their favorite things. We like the idea of a quality leather backpack (or a leather camera bag if, again, they’re into trip photography) because not only does it detract from the fact that they’re a tourist, but the high quality fits the bill of a reliable, functional bag. A broken backpack strap or a worn bottom is the last thing anyone wants halfway through their trip. Give your traveler a bag that will last well after their travels – a bag that will age beautifully with their travels, too.
